The Promise was unveiled in Dadu Garden, Doha, as a large scale public sculpture before being released as collectable cast vinyl figures in three colour ways.
 
KAWS (b.1974) is an American artist and designer known for his iconic characters and bold, graphic style that combines fine art and popular culture. Starting as a graffiti artist in the 1990s, KAWS gained global recognition for reimagining familiar cartoon figures with X-ed out eyes and skull-like heads. Having exhibited in museums around the world, including the Museum of Art in Atlanta and Serpentine Gallery in London, his work spans painting, sculpture, product design, and large-scale public installations, often bridging the worlds of street art, fashion, and commercial design.
