KAWS (born 1974) is an American artist famous for his pop culture characters created as 3D toys, paintings, prints and sculptures. KAWS started as a graffiti artist and his work became sought after, producing miniature toys which became a hit. He has worked with many consumer brands such as A Bathing Ape, Nike, Kiehl’s, Supreme and Hennessy. He now creates numerous large scale sculptures, murals, products and paintings with a bold colour palette and strong lines which have become extremely popular. His work is held in numerous international collections.
