George Condo (b. 1957) is an American artist renowned for his distinctive fusion of classical painting techniques with contemporary subject matter. Internationally celebrated, Condo’s work explores the human condition through a cast of invented, often deformed characters drawing from art history, popular culture, and psychological states. His dynamic compositions, marked by distorted figures, fragmented faces, and a blend of abstraction and figuration, embody a style he terms ‘Artificial Realism.’ Through painting, drawing, and sculpture, Condo reimagines traditional portraiture with dark humour, emotional intensity, and surreal wit.  Condo has become one of the most influential and collectible artists in the world, with his 2010 painting ‘Force Field’ selling for over $6.85 million at Christie’s in 2020.
