Etel Adnan (1925-2021) was a widely celebrated Lebanese-American artist, writer and poet. Adnan drew great inspiration from spirituality and the two cultures she experienced; she was born in Beirut and moved to America where her career gained momentum. Adnan is famous for her abstract compositions and vibrant colour palettes, having worked across various mediums to include paint, tapestry, drawing and ceramic. She has exhibited extensively internationally and in recent years her artworks have become increasingly sought after.
