A sought-after etching that perfectly captures Hockney’s signature blend of refined draughtsmanship and balanced compositions. The etching with aquatint of the exterior of a small, homely food shop in Miers, in southwest France, was drawn from life while he was visiting for the day. Issued in a limited edition of 500, this print has become highly sought-after for its advanced use of mixed techniques and monochrome finish.
 
David Hockney (born 1937) is one of the most influential 20th century British artists.
